Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) (Bag) – Franchi Sementi
Rosemary. While frequently grown from cuttings, rosemary will do well grown from seed. It is slow to germinate and requires 14-21 days @ 60 or so degrees to germinate. Sow seeds in pots or flats, cover with 1/8th inch of soil mix and keep well watered until they germinate. Transplant to individual containers once they are large enough to handle easily. Set outside and space at 18-24 inches. Rosemary is completely hardy in zones 8-10; in those areas, you can have a rosemary hedge. Traditional wisdom is that in other areas you need to dig it up and bring it inside for the winter. However, with protection from ice & snow, rosemary will survive at temperatures much lower than the often quoted 20 degrees F (-6 C). .15 gram packet.

This is an early variety that produces cylindrical radish of intense red colour and white tip. The radishes are mid length, tender and crunchy.

Radish Candela Ghiaccio. Very long white radish. Nice crisp crunchy taste. Stunning, especially in contrast with Candela Fuoco. Direct seed in early spring and again in fall. 35-38 days. 12 gram packet. Approximately 90-140 seeds per gram.

Peppermint (Bag) – Franchi Sementi
Menta Piperita - Peppermint. Perennial. Easy to grow from seed. Assertive flavor. In the Piemonte, they make a great mint syrup with this. .5 gram packet.
Perennial plant that can be sown from March to May and can be harvest when the plant is about 30/40cm tall. Peppermint has a lot of uses, not least in drinks, ice cream, with lamb, as a garnish or to make mint tea. Best suited to pots as it spreads quickly in the soil.

Pepper Chilli Red Cherry Small (Capsicum annuum L.) (Bag) – Franchi Sementi
*Heritage variety*
AKA 'Piccante Calabrese' or hot of Calabria. These chillies are round, hot and traditionally stuffed with tuna and arranged into jars of olive oil. Also great for stuffing as they will lose half their heat when cooked but have an excellent flavour of the fruit itself. Cut out the stalk and with a tea spoon remove the seeds before stuffing. Not for use where heat is a priority, but has more flavour than a traditional long chilli (which would be used for heat). Sow Spring. @120 seeds.

Pea Dwarf Piccolo Provenzale (Pisum sativum L.) (Bag) – Franchi Sementi
Parsley Comune (Petroselinum crispum Miller) (Bag) – Franchi Sementi
Flat leaf parsley. Smaller leaves and plants than Gigante di Napoli. Flavor may be a bit more intense than Napoli. Start from seed or transplants. 75-80 days from seed, 50 or so from transplants. For transplants, start 3-5 seeds per cell 8 weeks before set out date (several weeks before last frost). Either thin to one plant or leave entire clump to grow. Seeds are slow to germinate (14-21 days) so be patient. Soaking overnight helps speed up gemination. Very cold hardy. Will overwinter in most areas. 12 gram packet. Approximately 500-600 seeds per gram. Approx. 6000 seeds.

Common flat leaf. This is a mid-early variety of parsley. This is a very aromatic plant with thin stalks. The good size leaves have a dark green colour and grow back stronger after cutting. This variety has a good resistance to low temperature.

Italian Oregano. Perennial. Real oregano, not the puny stuff you find in garden centers. Large highly flavored leaves. Sow seeds early in spring, plant out after last frost date. Space at 12 inches. Divide every three years or so. 0.5 gram packet. Approximately 300-400 seeds per packet.
Perennial Plan to be sown from March to September and can be harvest all year round. Origano can be used fresh or dry. The dried leaves are indispensable on Pizza's and Breads. . 1g.
